Zombie-themed co-op shooter

Back 4 Blood is a premium action video game developed by Turtle Rock Studios. It is a multiplayer first-person shooter title that is considered by many to be the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, which the same game studio also developed.

As mentioned, many comparisons have been made between Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead, and it's not surprising to see why. It features largely similar gameplay mechanics but with expectedly better and updated graphics, with the most notable new feature being the addition of a card system.

What is Back 4 Blood all about?

Back 4 Blood is a first-person shooter game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world wherein the outbreak of a newly discovered parasite has infected the majority of humanity and turned into the Ridden. You will step into the shoes of one of the members of the Cleaners, a veteran group that has come together to fight back and defend against the oncoming zombie attack.

There are two game modes available in the game. The first is a four-player cooperative campaign with AI or player-controlled teammates. Choose among eight Cleaners and various weapons and items as you take increasingly challenging missions. The second mode is competitive multiplayer, wherein you can play with or against your friends, taking turns switching between Cleaners and Ridden roles in frenetic PvP matches.

Moreover, this action game features a new rogue-lite card system that constantly changes the gameplay experience, letting you create custom decks, roll various builds, and have more demanding fights. Nonetheless, certain players have voiced their confusion regarding the game's mechanics, particularly the card system. Mastering it may pose a considerable challenge, particularly for newcomers to the genre, as it demands a steep learning curve.
